THE ISLAND Tinos is wild and beautiful—definitely more for the adventurous than those seeking a tourist-oriented destination. The towns around the island are charming and simple, lovely to wander around and get lost. Driving can be complicated, as roads are not well marked, and GPS doesn’t quite have a grasp on the place! Luckily, we enjoyed getting lost as much as we did reaching our destination—it took us three tries to find the beach we wanted, but came upon beautiful spots each time.
THE HOUSE Spiti Lytras could not have been more beautiful. We loved every element of the well-appointed décor, and felt right at home. (How fun it was to see it on the cover of Greek Elle Decoration when we were in the Athens airport!) Our only fumble was locking/unlocking the door at night – which we never quite mastered. Having a fig tree right outside was our idea of heaven. We were provided pastries, basics, and water, though one day there was no water and we had to buy in town. The house was kept spotlessly clean, and we felt very well taken care of.
THE CONTACTS/SERVICE Thank you so much for your help. We felt very taken care of. It would be fantastic to have a “secret address book” made for the house, featuring restaurants, shopping, beaches, cultural visits, etc.
